FULL HD TV

A high-definition television is capable of displaying up to 1,920 vertical pixels by 1,080 horizontal pixels on its widescreen display (often referred to as 16:9 format). This translates to a lot more detail and clarity than the older “standard definition” televisions, which have fewer pixels and are shaped more like a square. These TVs provide you with an outstandingly detailed and crisp pictures.

OLED TVs

OLED is massive leap forward in screen technology. OLED stands for ‘Organic Light Emitting Diode’ & uses ‘organic’ materials like carbon to create light when supplied directly by an electric current. Unlike LED/LCD screens, an OLED TV doesn’t require a backlight to illuminate the set area. Without this restriction of an external light source, OLED screens can be super thin & crucially, flexible. They are faster at processing images, create deeper colours & more crisp in contrast.

4K TVs (UHD & SUHD)

4K, also known as Ultra HD (UHD), refers to a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. That’s four times the resolution found in your full HD TV. The extra resolution of 4K images adds better definition and clarity to the picture. The result is that images look incredibly life-like, more like looking through a window than watching TV.

LED TVs

LED use the same technology as an LCD TV, but instead of being illuminated by a florescent bulb from behind, they are lit by an array of LEDs (light emitting diodes). These are far more efficient and smaller in size, meaning the TV can be narrower.

SMART TVs

Typically, smart TVs support Ethernet, Wifi, USB, Bluetooth & flash memory cards from digital cameras, as well as coaxial cable, & other audio-video connections. Along with the OS & apps, the connectors enable on-demand video services & access to pictures, music & video on connected storage devices. Smart TV apps allow connection to websites / social media. They can connect to many potential input devices wirelessly to enhance usability & control. Wireless keyboards & mice, cell phones & tablet PCs can all connect to facilitate text entry, navigation & web browsing from the couch.

LCD TVs

The term ‘LCD’ Stands for ‘Liquid Crystal Display’. The key features that LCD televisions offer is the reduced physical depth of the device in comparison to older cathode ray tube (CRT) and plasma televisions, while at the same time offering much larger screens with higher picture resolution.
